I am a qualified counsellor, with psychotherapy training. I work in Cumbria, offering individual counselling for adults; face-to-face, online or by telephone. The counselling I offer is open-ended which allows for short or longer term work. I am a registered member of the professional bodies, BACP and UKATA.

I am a qualified counsellor using Transactional Analysis. I have additional training in bereavement counselling. I endeavour to have an inclusive practice where you can feel heard, understood and empowered throughout the therapeutic work.
I see my work as helping you understand how you come to be where you are, in relation to your life's experiences, and the impact and meaning they hold for you. We explore how this awareness helps you in your current situation and moving forward. This way of working can be helpful with a broad range of concerns, such as anxiety, relationships, grief, health or work issues, self-esteem or climate anxiety. We discuss and agree together the direction of the therapeutic work, to best meet your needs. I have a deep respect for the challenges and profound benefits of counselling, and the courage this takes. Regular supervision and continual professional development are cornerstones to my practice. |
A first stepAsking for help or starting therapy can be a challenging step to take. Finding the right therapist for you is important; this means finding someone whom you could work with, be comfortable talking to and at times be challenged by. It is useful to speak to several therapists before you make up your mind about who you'd like to work with.
To help this process, I offer a free 15 minute introductory chat to find out what you are wanting from therapy, whether I am best suited to meet your needs, and to give you the chance to ask me questions about counselling and how I practise. If you would like to get in touch please email me or fill in the contact form. |
About meMy background and interest in learning, education and personal development led to my professional training to become a counsellor. I trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Physis Scotland. I am interested in the connection between the mind and the body; and our relationship with the natural world, with the restorative power it holds for us when we connect with nature.
